Keskustelu oli täynnä kommentteja, jotka täydentävät niitä omia ajatuksiani, joita olen viime aikoina tuonut esille mm. kolmessa edellisessä kirjoituksessani. Nostan esille kolme poimintaa:
1.
"I serve on our school's technology integration committee. We had this exact discussion recently. The biggest change we all noted, across all ages, was a lack of perseverance and a need for instant gratification.Even I find myself skipping articles or links or videos that don't load instantaneously. It's not just our students."
2.
"I teach at a university. I have noticed that my students are very bad at/completely uninterested in digesting larger bodies of text and extracting information. They seem to think that education should all be delivered in bullet points."
3.
"Shitty millennial here. I think the age of technology and ready-available media has done us in. I mean, look at what we use to socialize, 140 character tweets, Facebook posts, and Reddit threads? Not a whole lot of bulk reading and dissecting information to be done here. Reddit is a great example: I find myself skimming the front page and if I click a link that loads into a large block of text, RARELY will I take the time to read it."
Koko keskustelu oli varsin mielenkiintoista luettavaa. Linkki tässä.
